Rules & Regulation
Part‑FCL articles and Appendices in the EASA Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 covering the Competency‑Based Instrument Rating (CB‑IR):
• Part‑FCL, Annex I: establishes general licensing rules including IR(A) and CB‑IR(A)
• Appendix 6: defines the Modular Training Courses for the IR, including the CB‑IR(A) structure, minimum flight time, simulator credits, and crediting of previously accumulated instrument flight hours
• Appendix 7: covers the IR skill test requirements, which also apply to CB‑IR applicants
