Privileges & Validity
• Act as PIC on single-engine piston (land) aircraft in the relevant class
• VFR operations within EASA member states and ICAO-compliant worldwide
May be combined with other privileges (e.g. Night Rating, CB‑IR)
• Validity: 24 months from the date of issue or last revalidation
• Revalidation:
Within the 3 months before expiry, either:
• Proficiency check with an examiner, or
12 hours flight time in SEP class in the last 12 months (incl. 6 hours PIC, 12 take-offs and landings, and 1 hour with an instructor)
• Medical certificate: Class 2
Entry Requirements
• Minimum age: 17 years
• Hold a valid PPL(A) or higher
• Medical certificate: Class 2
• RT (radiotelephony) license and LPE level 4+ for radio communication
Flight Training
• No mandatory training if revalidating based on experience
• Initial SEP training for new applicants includes:
->Aircraft familiarization
->Normal and emergency procedures
->Navigation exercises
->Take-offs and landings
->Proficiency check required with an examiner for:
->Initial issue
->Renewal (if expired)

SEP
Single Engine Piston
Want to renew your SEP rating before its expiration date? It’s easy to do with a training flight, ensuring you remain qualified to fly without interruption.
A minimum of 12 flight hours and 12 takeoffs/landings in the past 12 months. At least one training flight with an instructor.
A proficiency check with a Flight Examiner is required for revalidation.
